The Academy of Scientific Research announces the opening of applications for the “For Women in Science” grant in cooperation with L’Oréal-UNESCO

The Academy of Scientific Research and Technology announces the opening of applications for the annual grant offered by L’Oréal in cooperation with UNESCO, within the framework of the “For Women in Science” program, which aims to support and empower young female researchers in various scientific fields within the Arab Republic of Egypt.

This program comes within the framework of promoting women’s participation in scientific research, by honoring distinguished female scientists and encouraging them to continue their research careers, in addition to providing outstanding opportunities for female students and graduates of Egyptian universities and institutes.

Areas of specialization:

The scholarship covers a wide range of scientific disciplines, including:

* Life Sciences: (Biology, Biochemistry, Biophysics, Genetics, Physiology, Neuroscience, Biotechnology, Ecology, Behavioral Science)

* Physical Sciences: (Physics, Chemistry, Petroleum Engineering, Mathematics, Engineering Sciences, Information Sciences, Earth and Universe Sciences)

Program advantages:

* Selecting and honoring 3 distinguished female researchers annually in recognition of their scientific contributions

Supporting female researchers in completing their research careers and enhancing their professional opportunities.

Application requirements:

* Applicants must be graduates of science faculties at Egyptian universities

* Applicants for doctoral studies must be no older than 35 years of age

* Applicants for postdoctoral studies must be no older than 45 years of age

Benha University President Welcomes Delegation from Huazhong Agricultural University (China)

Prof. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of Benha University, welcomed a delegation from Huazhong Agricultural University (Central China Agricultural University) during their participation in the Fifth Applied Sciences Conference, scheduled to be held at Benha University's Obour campus.
The meeting was attended by prof. Gehan Abdel Hady, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research, and prof. Taha Ashour, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development.

Prof. El-Gizawy emphasized that the visit reflects the strong friendship between the two universities, which has spanned nearly a decade, and aims to explore future plans for strengthening bilateral cooperation in education and scientific research. He highlighted the importance of strategic partnerships that invest in research outputs, noting that both universities are pursuing an ambitious program to develop new varieties of Egyptian rice, alongside scholarship opportunities for Benha students to study in China and participate in summer school exchanges.
The delegation expressed their gratitude to Benha University, affirming that over the past ten years, significant achievements have been realized. These include scholarships for Benha's young researchers to pursue master's and doctoral degrees, postdoctoral research opportunities, and joint research projects that have resulted in numerous publications in prestigious international journals.

Benha University President Attends “Creators Make the Difference” Event and Honors Outstanding Students in Campus Activities

Prof. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of Benha University, attended the “Creators Make the Difference” event organized by the University's Center for Talented and Creative Students at the university sports grounds.
The event was held in the presence of prof. Gehan Abdel Hady, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research; prof. Taha Ashour, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; prof. Tamer Arafa, Acting Dean of the Faculty of Sport Sciences; prof. Mona Nasr, Director of the Center for Talented and Creative Students; faculty vice-deans; assistant secretaries of the university; and prof. Ahmed Abdel Salam, Deputy Director of the Center.
Prof. El-Gizawy affirmed the university's commitment to supporting distinguished, talented, and gifted students across all fields—discovering and nurturing their creative, innovative, artistic, literary, athletic, technological, and scientific skills. He emphasized that developing these talents prepares students to contribute to Egypt's path toward sustainable and comprehensive development.
He added that the Center for Talented and Creative Students plays a vital role in building young creative leaders capable of excellence and innovation. He praised the students' performances, which included artistic, musical, and athletic segments, reflecting their outstanding abilities. He extended his gratitude to the center's staff for their efforts in guiding students to achieve such remarkable results.
The celebration featured sports demonstrations by students of the archery division at the Faculty of Sport Sciences, patriotic songs, artistic performances, and a sketch on university student behavior. The event concluded with the presentation of shields and commemorative photos to honor the students.
