Dr. Nasser El Gizawy, President of Benha University, announced the launch of the University's 2nd Graduation Projects Marathon under the slogan "We Invest in Knowledge" on July 21, 2025.
The Marathon comes within the framework of the presidential initiative "Alliance and Development" and contributing to the "Be Ready" initiative under the slogan "One Million Qualified Innovators" and Benha University's commitment to implementing the National Strategy for Higher Education and Scientific Research 2030. El Gizawy pointed out that the Marathon's themes include the technical and engineering axis, which includes specializations at: engineering, computers, information technology in the fields of artificial intelligence systems, machine learning, and their dependent applications; Internet of Things (IoT) applications in industry or agriculture; robotics and smart systems; mobile application development or web systems; information security and block chain; renewable energy projects (solar energy, wind energy).
The medical and biological axis includes specializations in medicine, physical therapy, veterinary medicine, and biological sciences in the fields of developing innovative medical devices (such as smart prosthetics), genetic data analysis or biotechnology applications, and designing new drugs using computer modeling.
The industrial and production axis includes specializations in veterinary medicine, agriculture, and nanotechnology in the fields of solutions to enhance sustainability in the food supply chain and food waste recycling, technologies for converting organic waste into fertilizers or animal feed, solutions for detecting animal diseases and increasing animal productivity, improving production lines using automated control, developing new materials (such as environmentally friendly building materials), smart agriculture and modern irrigation systems, waste management and recycling.
The economic and administrative axis includes specializations in commerce, business administration, and economics in the fields of big data analysis for economic decision-making, developing smart accounting systems, feasibility studies for investment projects, and digital banking applications. For her part, Dr. Prof. Jehan Abdel-Hadi, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, explained that the target group is final-year students at Benha University's faculties.
The conditions for team participation are that each team consists of three to five students, that the project must be a college-approved graduation project, and that there must be an academic supervisor for the project. She added that the project's participation conditions include the project's compatibility with one of the competition themes, the presence of a prototype or simulation of the project, the practical applicability of the project, the innovation of the proposed solution, and demonstrating the project's societal and environmental impact.
She indicated that the prizes for each theme are EGP 10,000 (ten thousand) for first place, EGP 8,000 (eight thousand) for second place, and EGP 6,000 (six thousand) for third place.
