Benha University launches an internal competition to select its representatives in the national waste management competition.

Benha University, under the patronage of Dr. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of the University, announced the launch of the internal competition “University Waste Management 2026” under the slogan “We Recycle... We Create... We Build,” to select the best student teams that will represent the university in the national competition for waste management in universities, which is organized by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research under the patronage of Dr. Abdel Aziz Qansouh, and under the supervision of the Institute for Leadership Development, and in cooperation with the Fund for the Care of Innovators and Geniuses, with national prizes amounting to 450,000 pounds.
The competition aims to encourage students to develop practical and sustainable solutions for improving the waste management system within universities, in a way that supports the concepts of the circular economy and the green economy, and contributes to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and Egypt's Vision 2030.
Dr. Nasser Al-Gizawi stressed that the university is keen to support creativity and innovation among its students, and to provide the appropriate environment to turn their ideas into applicable projects, noting that the competition represents an opportunity to invest the summer vacation in developing skills of innovation, teamwork and entrepreneurship.
The competition targets undergraduate and postgraduate students, through teams consisting of two to five students, with the possibility of forming multi-disciplinary teams. The university has allocated financial prizes totaling 45,000 pounds for the winners at the university level, with 20,000 pounds for first place, 15,000 pounds for second place, and 10,000 pounds for third place, in addition to providing financial and technical support for the development of outstanding projects.
The university president explained that the three winning teams will qualify to represent Benha University in the national stage, whose prizes amount to 450,000 pounds, noting that the deadline for registration and completion of files is August 21, 2026, through the link: https://forms.gle/aWkfJ1zm44p2bjwE9 .
The university urged its students to seize the opportunity, form work teams, and develop innovative ideas that serve the university and the community. The winning project may represent Benha University in national competitions.
